I know this a common species but this is the first time it perched low enough for me to obtain a decent shot.

Mun, what is the state of affairs in Byram now? Is it a no-man's land now, or can still drive inside?

You can drive inside but most of the vegetation of the marshlands have been cleared away. It will take some time for the place to recover and hopefully, for the birds to return. Also, certain parts are now fenced up with hoarding boards. The surrounding mangrove habitat is still intact and the birds there is the only thing to remind us of this locality's former glory.

JKC, you can drive in there. The road that turns left immediately after the last pond is now blocked halfway in.

Thanks, Alphan.
