Birds of China - Xin Jiang（新疆）- Day 3

Day 3 at Altay, this is my favorite place of all because all birding sites will be nearby...that's mean we can cover more places more species and more lifers.....

1. Bluethroat（蓝喉歌鸲）male

4. European Roller - managed to get some better shots this time, usually wire perch

every bird on open area. no blocking no lowlight, no challenge.. redo.. LOL

Very challenging loh... first few days very hot and very harsh light, and last few days very strong wind and very x10 cold (until we decided to stay in the car and missed some good nests).
Some time need to climb up the slope to chase after the bird. Adrian can tell you how difficult it is to climb up the mountain during his trip
Some time it is so open that the bird will fly away before we can approach them.
But there are some birds which are super friendly also

While we were busy chasing after the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker under the tree and I sensed that something was staring at us, and here we found these 2 cute Long-eared Owl babies

11. Grey Headed Woodpecker - male - this one like to stay on the ground..

Once upon a time not so long ago, at the Flickr Sony Group, a few guys says China got no more birds. They are all at the restaurant waiting to be eaten. Yet all the birds you guys shot are so beautiful and many. Anyway, this forum shows me the real thing and that's what really matter. So guys, keep them coming, all the nice shots, including the bird on the plate.

They are still have other part of China, the people eat the bird..... but China is so big... many place still are good for bird photograph, only is how you plan and survey.... like you choose the right place... here....
