same same la..... used to be known as Black-shouldered Kite when the Old World species are generally lumped together, but now the name "Black-shouldered Kite" often used to specifically mean the Australian species that had been split out and the Asian species often now called the Black-winged Kite, but many local birders still do use Black-shouldered Kite since we dont have the Australian form here.

Same to Peaceful/Zebra Dove case, the Peaceful Dove name now officially points to a split species in Australasia. Our form had the official name of Zebra Dove but yet again both names are still popularly accepted by local birders.

Problem only arise when the split forms do retain in the region, then the use of the name may become more careful, such as Richard's/Paddyfield Pipit, Red-rumped/Striated/Rufous-bellied Swallows and etc.
