I think most of the birder's might not wanted to crash on the same day, too many visitor and bird watcher's. best is week later. Just my point of view. and that's my targetting time to visit there also but yee were there 2 weekds back. he reported the place are super DRY.............

I am going!!! Please look for girl-in-camo using Olympus + Sigma 50-500mm on green tripod!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I don't expect to see any birds but I will be going to Jelai Resort to spot my usual suspects & I'm going to cover the event as a journalist. It's good to be there for the fun & camaraderie as well as for the stalls that would offer stuff on sale. I covered this event for Tourism Ministry in past years & now invited by travel website in Singapore to cover for them! If any of you are going, please come say hello!!!! Remember, girl-in-ponytail-&-camo!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Somebody took pictures of a mummy tiger & her cubs on the new road when it was closed before. Yes, it is that wild & we have one of the best places on earth to visit with chance encounters! Do visit even if only for a day-trip!

oh! really? happy to hear that. at least there are still wild tigers around.
before the new road reopen me too when there to have a look but due to road work we can only travel a short distant.
Re: Fraser's Hill International Bird Race
Good luck to those going up to Fraser's Hill this weekend. I was there 2 days ago while guiding 2 bird watchers. Much quiet than usual. But of course the usual ones are around if you are in Jelai.
New road is open for cars going down while Old road for cars to go up. Tiger? you really have to be super lucky to see one in the wild - as hard as striking the 1st prize in MKT (Magnum / Kuda / Toto). The walk along new road is very nice and cooling.
Cheers!
