A variety of parrots are surveying all available nesting hollows at Murrays Beach at present . The female Eastern Rosella was checking out a hollow which last year was occupied by Scaly-breasted Lorikeets. Indeed later a pair of Scaly-breasted Lorikeets also checking out this particular hollow. These eucalypt trees do have multiple hollows but many trees have been cleared to allow a housing settlement to proceed hence hollows are at a premium as upwards of 50% of trees have been removed so hollow reduction would be similar.
