Thailand March 2012 - Day 1
On 15th to 18th of March, I embarked on a 4 days trip to Thailand. I travelled total of 1200 km with bird photog from Singapore Quek and Chris Lee covering birding sites of Bang Ban (close proximity to Ayutthaya), Mea Wong National Park and Huai Kha Kheang Wildlife Sanctuary (West Side of Thailand). On the last day, we swing back to the east side of Thailand to explore Khao Yai National Park. The total species photographed were 31 and out of the tally about 17 species classified as lifers.
On the first day, I landed on time at Bangkok at 9.30. By 10 am, I have cleared immigration and got all my bags. Before proceeded to the gate 6 pick-up area, I stopped by the AIS counter to get my mobile sim card with data plan for Thai Baht 599.00. The pre-paid mobile allowed me to check my facebook and gmail during my trip.
After meeting Guide A and Quek, we headed to the 1st site, Wat Chaleam Phra Kiat, to photograph the Spotted Owlet.

By noon we were done shooting the Owlet and decided to head to Bang Ban for the Pied Kingfisher. I had been to Bang Ban 2 years ago and got my lifer during that time. I don't mind getting some improvement shots this time.
