Rare Garden Bird: Red-whiskered Bulbul Empty Rare Garden Bird: Red-whiskered Bulbul

Although a common cagebird, in Malaysia, it is only native to the northern areas near the Thai border, but due to it being a popular cagebird, established in some urban area.

In my garden, this is the 2nd time I see one, the last one was at least 10 years ago at my house fence, today I saw one again:

could be, haven't seen any established group this side of Ipoh yet but it is established in some parts of Ipoh at least, either a vagrant from established group that is nearly 5-10km away or probably an escapee?

Me second time saw only, but another part of Ipoh got breeding record before, the juvenile have yellow vents, so we initially thought it was a hybrid, but the two species did hybrid and is capable of producing offsprings that are fertile and looked pretty much just like a normal Red-whiskered, troublesome......

since when I asked for this one wor??? All those good good one I asked also you didnt send to me!!!! I also saw this fella in HK before, as lup sup as our Yellow-vented Bulbul there..... haha, then at other parts of China I went, the Chinese Bulbul took over the role..... Laughing

My friend said Tenaga near Kuala Muda got many of this bird..

ya, that sounds like their natural habitat, they are natural occurring in Perlis, Kedah and parts of Kelantan, where they live in Kampongs but their number had reduced, not as abundant and common as they used to be, the rest of our locations southward, we can only see small isolated and scattered populations that are established but probably barely sustainable. I also saw in HK before where they are so common!!
