Year End Birds with J1
Happy New Year to everyone!!!
Here I would like to share some field test shots from yesterday morning. I bought a Nikon J1 to replace my Nikon P5100 as a digiscoping camera but since the FT1 adapter already in the shop, I purchased it to give it a try.
So, with the J1 + FT1 adapter + Nikon 300mm f4 .... (yes, noise is obvious due to small size sensor)
personally I think the J1 and V1 can still be a decent camera for bird photography, but beware do not use a long telephoto lens, do the maths. I have tried with my 180mm lens, it works pretty well. but anyone how have a 200mm f2, should give it a try too. Those who are more talented in video, try the V1.
Cheers!

I am quite disappointed with the small sensor and no tiltable LCD.
I think I will get a Sony NEX-5N (or maybe NEX-7) for digiscoping

makus, me think the NEX7 will be much better. although initially i wanted to get the Panasonic GF2 / GH2 for digiscoping but having seen some good results from digiscopers using the V1/J1, I decided to try it out.
yes, i agreed that nikon could have put a more functional LCD screen and bigger sensor at least the same size as a micro four third. just praying nikon will produce better mirrorless body in the near future.
