Trip report - Thailand (28th August ~ 2nd September 2011) - Part 2
After staying for one and a half day at Thale-Noi, we headed to our next destination, the Krung Ching (KC) Waterfall. KC Waterfall is part of the Khao Luang National Park at Nakorn Sri Thammarat Province at Southern Thailand. It is an ideal location for seeing birds of lowland forest.
KC Waterfall is about 3 hours from Thale Noi by car. Half way through the journey, we stopped by a small town for lunch. We went into a simple food store for some Thai Soup Noodle. It was one of the best Thai Soup Noodle that I ever tasted.

But No Good, you seem to agree that the best Thai food is at BM town.

After settled in the cabin and a quick shower, we started our afternoon birding activity.
The local guide, Mr Daeng led us into a forest trail looking for the Rufous Collared Kingfisher.
Inside the forest canopy, beware of mosquito.

Unfortunately, the Kingfisher did not show up.
Later, we opted to bird along the tar road that leading from the park to the main gate.

We saw a pair of Raffles's Malkoha perched on a tree.

As I was busy shooting the Malkoha, I saw the rest of the group was busy engaged with another target bird few meter away from me.
I quickly carried my gears and ran to toward them. Yaa ! It was a Male Green Broadbill.

The rest of the afternoon session was very quiet. We managed to see a few species of Bulbul. No Scarlet-rumped Trogon, no Banded Kingfisher and etc. Was it due to afternoon heat that caused the birds to stay deep in the forest ? I also started to doubt that maybe it was not
the right season to bird at KC Waterfall as late August was already the end of the breeding season and the migration season was still at least
a month away.
At about 5 pm, we decided to head back to the cabin and got ready for dinner.
