Cordyceps infection

My friend found this infected insects on one of my macro trip recently. I think this is not an easy find cause it's 2 in 1 line up nicely. Here are some shots of them to share.

Rare shots of a beautiful moment in Nature. From Death springs Life. Am wondering about the mechanics of this penomenon. How did the wasp-like creature die? How did it get to be the way it is now? Hmmm....
