Coppersmith Barbet, Crimson-breasted Barbet or Coppersmith (Megalaima haemacephala)

here are some shots i got yesterday morning at River Front Teluk Intan, first i thought quite hard to get this guy come down coz the trees at surrounding area almost out of berries, except 2 trees there still quite full with berries... finally, my patience was paid off with this guy appear on the short tree, and i managed to get close enough to him (around 6-8 feet), and shoot him at slightly above eye-level again after i got almost eye-level shots on the Common Flameback at Teluk Batik Beach, Lumut ^^

all shots were taken by Canon EOS 550D + Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 handheld...

2nd and last one not bad. Like the 2nd action and the last pose.

did I see too much of color saturation?

Superb images! Are u stil in USM? Maybe we can do some bird photo outing in USM...

hmm.. when i first saw the photos on my computer screen before proceed to editing, i also feel like a bit saturated even i didnt increase saturation in my camera settings... so, i reduce the saturation during editing and the final results are as what i posted above...

mamuin, i m no longer in USM, i left USM since year 2004... anyway, i m not very sure is there any interesting birds in USM ?? i juz started shooting birds 4 months ago, so i never aware of the birds that can be found in USM ^^

thanks nelson, i will try to improve and shoot more good photos in future...
i m not very good in telling the direction to R.F.T.I. (not really familiar with T.I.) and i was brought by my T.I. friend there, but it is really easy to find

Lovely capture ! This is a small but noisy bird, one that I have yet to get a good shot of.

Nice photos and #2 is the best.
A bit tightly framed, I prefer to have a little bit more spaces for the bird, anyway just personal preference
