Re: SOME LUP SUP BIRDS
Your Lup sup birds look a bit too brown under the light ! I have two species, the Raven already posted !
You should call them ChiakSai birds.

Re: SOME LUP SUP BIRDS
I think there is no Raven in the photos.
The ones with grayish neck are Jackdaw.
The other species I am not sure... I guess is Rook.
Nelson is getting better in bird ID

Re: SOME LUP SUP BIRDS
I only saw two species, the larger ones with longer bill are Rooks while smaller, grey neck are Jackdaws.
The Ravens do occur in Xinjiang but Ravens are large all black crow, and the bill is thicker shorter than Rooks, that is a real Corvus, so you didnt get Raven in your photos.
I was particularly doubtful about the brown, are there really brown or is it due to PS? Or else a plausible cause would be that these crows had been bathing in muddy water, staining their wings into brownish coloration, the color should not had naturally occurred in both species.

You are right! It's a Jackdaw and a Rook. Raven are very shy and wary...
I checked the original photos...there are brown feathers...

I double checked again. I think the ones with brownish color are BROWN NECKED RAVEN. Described as: Identification - bronzy brown color on nape and comparatively thin bill and a less bushy throat feathering and slightly narrower 'hand' (one 'finger' fewer at wing-tip). Hope I am correct...

Erm.... nope, bill shape is wrong for a Raven species, and I dont quite think this species occurs in China??
